Thursday, May 29th, at 7:00 PM at the Yonemotos
We have the unexpected blessing of having Joy Tani, our wonderful sister and church member serving as a career missionary in Japan, visiting with us this next week. There is a specific purpose for her visit: Joy is hoping to invite and encourage people to consider serving with her in the growing and fruitful ministry that God has blessed her with in Japan. She is specifically praying and looking for those who might come to Japan for one to two years to serve alongside her in the JOY Club ministry she has started up —this is a ministry of teaching English to unchurched young children with the goal in mind of being able to share Jesus with the children and their mothers and fathers, through the caring and warm relationships established through these classes. The need in Japan, as you know, is very great; the opportunity is astounding (the Holy Spirit is opening doors in a remarkable, new way!). As part of her visit, the Missions Committee will be hosting a gathering with Joy for any and all who might be interested in considering this opportunity to serve with her. If you have any interest at all, feel any tug on your heart, to serve now or in the future, please come to hear Joy share in-depth about her ministry, about what the day-to-day life and ministry of a JOY Club short-term missionary would look like, about what God is doing through this ministry and in Japan. If you have any questions, or if you would be able to come to this evening with Joy, please contact Diane Date or Rob Yonemoto. Coffee and dessert will be served!
