Sunday Morning Ministry Opportunities

As you may have heard, we will be moving to a two-service format at the beginning of next month. Knowing that a two-service format will stretch our current Sunday morning ministry people, (like our ushers, greeters, chairpersons, song leaders, etc.) our worship ministry teams are currently seeking to add to their ranks willing individuals who desire to serve Jesus Christ. Will you take this week to pray about serving in any of these Sunday morning ministries?

The descriptions of our Sunday morning ministries are listed below. You will notice that a few of these ministries are brand new, developed with the purpose of warmly welcoming our new people and deepening the quality of our fellowship time. As you consider these ministries, please know that we will provide training for each area.

Thank you ahead of time for prayerfully considering this decision and commitment! SUNDAY MORNING MINISTRIES:

Usher/Greeter Ministry Heads: Keith Kobayashi, Bob Nakada and Stan Date The purpose of these individuals is to maintain order in the worship service and to "shepherd" the worship attendees. These individuals actively greet people as they arrive, assist people to their seats, welcome the first-time guests, provide for any special needs, and follow up with people after service. The usher-&/greeters, make it easier for people to meet Jesus, as well as others in our congregation.

Chairperson Ministry Heads: Bryce Yokomizo and Brian Inamine The role of the worship chairperson is help draw people into the spiritual act of worship through his/her facilitation of the worship service. The chairperson also seeks to coordinate his/her role with the roles of the worship team, the morning prayer person, the morning speaker, etc., in order to enhance worship by establishing a flow to the worship service.

Praise Team Ministry Heads: Dave Tomita and Tony Kim Similar to the role of the worship chairperson, these musically gifted individuals lead the congregation into worship through music, meditation and testimonies. Knowing the power of worshipping through music, these individuals focus on drawing hearts to God while not drawing attention to themselves. The praise team leader also coordinates with the chairperson and morning speaker.

Audio and Sound Ministry Heads: Dale Gin and Ken Mori People can't respond to God if they can't hear His Word and/or the testimonies of others. These individuals are trained to set-up and operate the sound board and microphones. In addition to ensuring that all participants are properly miked, they conduct sound checks beforehand to achieve good sound quality. The sound team also records the morning message (and testimonies) and play recorded music over the sound system, if requested.
